The Shrimpy is one of a handful of classic designs I’m tying again for the ‘26 season. These patterns are classics for a reason and while tarpon flies have evolved significantly since many of these were first dreamed up they still have a place in today's high pressure fishery. The Shrimpy is a Doug Flutie design intended for shrimp hatches but it’s a very effective pattern in many backcountry scenarios. Ultralight with a great profile, the Shrimpy is tied about 2.5” long on a 1/0 hook.
