The Coyote Mantis, designed to imitate the ubiquitous Mantis shrimp that make up a large part of the bonefish's diet in the Keys and particularly Biscayne Bay. While it's not the first fly I pull out of the box for permit, it's a great pattern when you're on a flat that bonefish and permit share. Tied on a #2 hook with small lead eyes or a #4 hook with medium bead chain eyes and a single post weed guard.
