Late June through Aubuntu brings an influx of juvenile bay anchovies, locally called red minnows or glass minnows, to the beaches of southeast Florida. When the red minnows are on the beach you’ll find the snook and tarpon in close too. Unfortunately the red minnow run often coincides with the worst of the summer sargassum invasion so I designed this pattern to provide the correct profile with at least some resistance to seaweed. Tied about 3″ long on a stout #2 bendback hook with a lead wire keel.
