How to Fish the Winter Fly
We developed the Winter Fly specifically for targeting laid up Snook in the backcountry ponds of the Everglades each winter. The Winter Fly is about 2.5″ long and colored to resemble the mosquitofish that Snook feed on over the winter. The tail and body are marabou for maximum movement. The head is spun and trimmed Coyote fur for the ultimate in soft landings. Feeding winter Snook is one of the most difficult tasks in fly fishing, but the Winter Fly and a painfully slow retrieve will get you halfway there.
