No Name Shrimp #4
The No Name Shrimp is our take on a venerable Steve Bailey pattern of the same name. Bailey designed the No Name Shrimp as a wintertime utility shrimp pattern. Lightweight and soft landing for lethargic fish feeding on cold flats, the No Name Shrimp is also an excellent tailing bonefish and redfish fly. Tied on a #4 hook with medium beadchain eyes and a single post mono weedguard.

How to Fish the No Name Shrimp

The No Name Shrimp is a skinny water utility fly. We’ve caught bonefish, redfish, snook, and speckled trout on the No Name Shrimp over the years. Our version utilizes the same dubbed Aunt Lydia’s yarn body as the original but we’ve updated our version with a lighter coyote fur tail, short rubber legs and custom eyes from Evil Eye Fly. This is the perfect fly for tailing bonefish in Biscayne Bay or low tide winter redfish in Ding Darling.
